There are some brands of ketchup that are date sweetened and delicious, but they are not accessible to all and can be a bit pricey. This simple recipe is our solution!

14 oz can crushed tomatoes
¼ cup date sugar
¼ cup Ume plum or white vinegar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch allspice
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until creamy and smooth.
Add mixture to a medium saucepan on medium high heat, bring to a gentle boil, and turn down to low simmer.
Let simmer for 30 minutes, or until slightly reduced and darkened in color, stirring every few minutes to prevent sticking.
